Saturday, June 21, 2008. I’ve got the fever to check out some movies… so what the hell am I doing at a Dodger game?
Friday, June 20, 2008. The first full day of the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival, after the previous night’s premiere of “Wanted.”
The 14th Annual Los Angeles Film Festival kicks off today, and while it’s great us Angelinos get to be amongst the first to partake in such works as Timor Bekmambetov’s “Wanted” and Guillermo Del Toro’s “Hellboy II,” there are several dozen other new titles without Angelina Jolie or Ron Perlman worthy of mention. These are just a few I am personally looking forward to seeing over the next two weeks…
With more than 425 production companies, entertainment publications and local film commissions in attendance, it can be difficult to know exactly what to do attending the American Film Market.
If the pandemonium outside the Festival Theatre in Westwood was any indication, Saturday night’s world premiere screening of Rodger Grossman’s “What We Do Is Secret” was THE hot ticket to have at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
I love film festivals. I don’t care how big or small they are, whether they have films from around the world or just in that neck of the woods. The chance to discover something new before anyone else is so addictive, I will easily overextend my budget for the experience. And this was certainly true for the two days I was able to attend this year’s CineVegas Festival.
