The Untitled John Hamburg Project

Ben Stiller is currently attached to more projects than any mortal can make. Doing a voice for Dreamworks’s 2005 CG animated feature “Madagascar,” teaming with Jay Roach on the long planned “Meet The Parents 2” and the futuristic romantic comedy “Used Guys,” working with pal Owen Wilson on a big screen version of “Starsky and Hutch,” acting in the oddly titled “Go To Hell, Mike Piazza,” doing triple threat duties (writing, directing and acting) in an adaptation of Budd Schulberg’s classic Hollywood novel “What Makes Sammy Run?”…

But before he gets to work on any of these projects, he will take some time to star in debut filmmaker John Hamburg’s currently untitled comedy for Danny DeVito and Jersey Films. Stiller will star as Reuben Feffer, a senior risk assessment expert who leaves his wife shortly after the nuptuals (after he discovers she cheated on him during the honeymoon) and finds himself falling for Polly Prince, a quirky woman from his past, while he also tries to land a new client whose reputation for extreme sports makes him poor candidate for coverage.

Polly is likable, attractive, very smart and a world traveler, a waitress whose unstable childhood has led her to shy away from commitment to people, places, and a promising career at the U.N. Polly, who knew Reuben in middle school, runs into Reuben while working at a cocktail party. They couldn’t be more opposite. She’s adventurous, spontaneous and a compulsive non-planner who lives with a blind ferret. Yet, the sparks are there. Despite a few disastrous dinner dates, and Reuben’s failure to disclose his recent marriage saga, Polly eventually gives him another chance, and gives herself one as well.

Shooting begins November 11 in Los Angeles. If you feel you are qualified to portray one of these roles, contact the production company directly.
