This second part of the Early Report highlights the newest MPAA ratings as well as estimated screen counts for all films scheduled for release between April 2005 and June 2007.

Most Recent Release Date Changes and Additions

Asylum (Paramount Classics): The Iam McKellen-led drama, previously set to open on May 13, has been postponed. A new release date was not announced

Crash (Lions Gate): “Million Dollar Baby” screenwriter Paul Haggis leads an all-star cast, including Sandra Bullock and Don Cheadle, in his directorial debut, about how a single car accident can affect the lives of a disseperate group of Los Angeles residents. Film will open on May 6, one week earlier than previously set

The Devil’s Rejects (Lions Gate): Rob Zombie’s sequel to his “House of 1000 Corpses” will now open on July 22, three weeks earlier than previously scheduled

Duma (Warner Brothers): Campbell Scott and Hope Davis star in Carroll Ballard’s South African-set tale about a young boy and his cheetah, which will open in limited release on April 29

Happy Feet (Warner Brothers): After the collapse of the fourth “Mad Max” movie, George Miller’s first film since 1998’s “Babe: Pig in the City” will be this CG-animated feature about an unusual young penguin and his adventures in Antarctica. With vocals by Brittany Murphy, Robin Williams and Elijah Wood, film will open in theatres on November 17, 2006

Mad Hot Ballroom (Paramount Classics): Marilyn Agrelo’s documentary, about New York City schoolchildren learning to ballroom dance, was the big hit at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival. Film will open in the Big Apple on May 13, before expanding into major markets on May 20

Modigliani (Freestyle Releasing): Another week, another move for the oft-delayed Andy Garcia bio-pic of the painter and arch-rival of Pablo Picasso. Film will now open in Los Angeles and Washington DC on May 6

State Property 2 (Lions Gate): Damon Dash directs this sequel to the hit 2002 film, which opens on April 13
