Casting calls and news items in the TV community come in each day here to FilmJerk.com. Amy Lawrence catches the minutiae that falls through the cracks, and discusses them more in depth than most of them probably deserve. Today is different: I bring you a most important news item, on the series finale of “Sex and the City.”
According to FilmJerk.com sources, Carrie goes to Paris with Alexsandr in episodes 619 and 620, “An American Girl in Paris, Parts Une and Deux,” where they run into his ex-wife. Producers are seeking a French star in her late 40 to early 50s to play Juliette Petrovsky.
Additionally, producers are looking for five rich, stylish, New York type women (Sheila, Mona, Roma, Ronda & Rena) in their late 40’s with sleek, blown-out dark hair wearing outfits straight off the runway of Fashion Week, who will help Samantha plan a breast cancer benefit; a young, shy, couple in their early twenties (Wayne and Amber) from Charlotte, North Carolina; and a hip waiter in his early twenties at the Lever House.
This two-parter, written by longtime series writer/producer Michael Patrick King and directed by Tim Van Patten, will be the series’ end. Will Carrie bid adieu to New York City and have Sexe et la Ville? Personally, I think non. How could she possibly live without Big?
