  • In episode 5.14, entitled “Sand Francisco Dreamin’,” the girls from “Charmed” will tackle the Sandman myth, with a tracer demon who’s killing Sandmen so people cannot dream…
  • “ER” is heading to Africa, as Dr. Carter heals French speaking Congolese (prepare for subtitles!). Look for a potential short term love interest named Jillian…
  • Lesbian Alert! Billie on “Fastlane” shocks Van and Deaq when she goes undercover as a lesbian divorcee to help capture a pair of crooks. A famous movie producer (they really would like to get Robert Evans for this role) who has a past history with Billie agrees to allow the guys to use his latest faboo party for one of their sting operations. The episode’s called “Strap On.” Seriously…
  • Episode 1.13, “The Friendly Skies”, Samantha (Poppy Montgomery) will have an old flame show up on “Without a Trace”. He may be there to stay. This week’s missing person is Linda, a 32 year old flight attendant who has recently cleaned herself up after a history of alcohol abuse…
  • “Boomtown” has as upcoming tale, “Last Words,” about a Death Row inmate who has his posse on the outside kidnap a police officer in exchange for a pardon…
  • Episode 3.13 of “CSI” has Warrick searching for the drive-by shooter who kills a nine year old girl, while Nick is on the trail of the killer of computer programmer Garret Kwan…
  • “Hidden Hills” threatens to stick around for a while. An upcoming episode will have Doug and Janine reliving their wilder youth by attending a Bon Jovi concert…
  • On the “Family Man” episode of “John Doe,” John gets help from an autistic woman who knows the whereabouts of Lisa, a 16 year old girl who recently disappeared while walking her six year old sister home…
  • Hal gets into all kinds of trouble while Lois is out of town, with a visit from his beer-guzzling high school buddy Larry, in the episode “Hal’s Friend” of “Malcolm in the Middle”…
  • General Custer will appear in “Present Perfect,” Episode 154 of “Sabrina The Teenage Witch.” Custer will be one of a number of students in The Other Realm Mistake School, which tries to teach the importance of learning from our past mistakes. Look for a celebrity like Corey Feldman to fill the role of the class instructor…
  • In “Battle of Evermore,” Episode 5.17 of “That 70s Show,” Red and Eric are paired up in the annual Church Jamboree, where they will go up against an annoying father and son team who has won two years in a row…
  • Lots of new reality shows are filming pilots including “The Funniest Person in America” the American Idol of stand-up… “Here Come the Joneses,” where a set-up family of actors moves to a small town and interacts with the townsfolk (hilarity ensues)… Folks in recovery can apply for a new show about rehab… and last and least the makers of “Taxicab Confessions” are entering the bedroom with a show about couples who don’t like each other but stay together because “The Sex is Good”.

On the silver screen…

  • “Killer Diller,” based on the Clyde Edgerton novel, begins filming February 10 in Missouri. The storyline follows inhabitants of a Christian School for troubled kids who form a band. Lucas Black from “Sling Blade” plays autistic Vernon, while Wesley, our lead troubled teen, is played by William Lee Scott. The novel is a sequel to “Walking Across
    Egypt”…
  • “Polar Express” is looking for children to play various roles, and there are strict height limitations. Also, notation that their images may not be used is part of the casting sheet. This confirms earlier reports that the film will be computer animated using new motion-capture technology…
  • Disney’s “Ladder 49” follows a veteran East Coast city firefighter, Jack Morrison, who thinks back on the events of his life as he is trapped in a department store blaze, awaiting the members of his elite team of Ladder 49 to reach and rescue him…
  • Caroleen Feeney, of “Denise Calls Up” and “Ivansxtc,” stars in “Love Conquers All!” She’ll play a successful ad exec whose already chaotic life is thrown into further turmoil when she gets profiled on a TV news program…
  • In the Disney feature “Providence,” a struggling Hollywood screenplay writer, has no idea he’s been drafted to be part of an FBI sting operation when an FBI agent posing as a film producer buys the rights to his film and then hires him to direct it. For the writer, it’s a chance to see a dream realized. For the agent, it’s chance to bring down the bad guys and once and for all prove to his dad that he can be a hero…
  • Richard Gere and Julianne Moore topline “Without Apparent Motive” under the direction of filmmaker Bille August. Film is a stylish and sexy noir thriller which tracks sheriff’s detective Jimmy Carp (Gere) through his assignment to find the murderer of three high profile Los Angeles businessmen. Shooting begins in Los Angeles on January 15.
