FilmJerk.com is an entertainment news journal focusing on breaking news, script reviews, advance film reviews and interviews. Established on January 1st, 2000 by Edward Havens, FilmJerk became one of the most respected entertainment news sites on the internet, and we look forward to reclaiming that glory.
Despite the initial connotations, “FilmJerk” is not an instant description of our publisher’s personality. The name is a play on the term “soda jerk,” one who worked at a fountain shop in the 1950s and 1960s. It’s merely coincidental that our publisher can regularly be a real bastard.
Our best known feature has been “The Early Report,” which will now look at the each week’s independent and foreign movie releases, including theater-specific information.
FilmJerk has been featured in The New York Times, TVGuide.com, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Daily News, The Times of London, Newsday and The New York Post, among others. This doesn’t include the many sites that also use us as a source on a regular basis. We allow reprinting of text excerpts for story purposes, provided a link to the original full text is included. Complete reprinting of any material is not allowed without permission.
This version of FilmJerk.com was designed and programmed by C. E. Havens using WordPress, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and lots of wine.
FilmJerk.com respects the privacy of its visitors. No information will be released to 3rd parties. We use Google Analytics and our host’s traffic monitoring services, mostly just to see how people find us and where all the broken links are. We hate spam as much as you do.
